The 2001 EA-OHP Congress will take place on 24-27 October 2001 and will be kindly hosted by the Spanish Instituto Nacional de Seguridad e Higiene en el Trabajo at their Centro Nacional de Condiciones de Trabajo in Barcelona.

Barcelona is famous for its beautiful architecture with monuments from Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance periods. The city is also a centre of Modernist architecture distinguished by works of the famous Antoni Gaudí. Its seaside location makes Barcelona a gastronomic experience with excellent fish restaurants. Barcelona offers a vibrant cultural life with museums of Picasso, Miró and Gaudí. In addition to this, the city offers excellent shopping facilities. All the Congress activities will take place between October 24th and 27th: Workshop meetings for the Practice, Education and Research forums of the Academy will take place on the Wednesday 24th. The main part of the Congress will take place on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th. The Annual Business Meeting of the European Academy for Occupational Health Psychology will be held in the morning of the 27th (Saturday).

The Keynote Speakers will be Professor Julian Barling (Editor of the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology), Professor Tage Kristensen (National Institute of Occupational Health, Denmark) and Professor José Maria Peiró (University of Valencia, Spain). Professor Tom Cox CBE will present the Chair’s address on behalf of the European Academy.

For all papers there will be 15 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for discussion. Included in the programme will also be interactive posters: presenters will briefly introduce the content of their poster (5 minutes) and time will then be allocated for delegates to discuss posters with the presenters. It is also possible to submit ‘stand-alone’ posters, without an oral presentation.
